Siemens Energy employs more than 1,200 people in Lincoln and is the UK’s only industrial gas turbine manufacturer, designing, building and servicing turbines in the 5–15 MW class for a global market. The company helped found the University of Lincoln’s engineering school in 2009 — the first new UK engineering school in more than two decades — and the Lincoln Science & Innovation Park grew out of a partnership between the university and Lincolnshire Co-op.
